Abstract

We examined 52 patients with hypertension which were hospitalized for planned laparascopic cholecystectomia. We studied proinflammatory markers (IL-1α, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10) and estimated the anxiety level by Spielberger-Haninin two weeks before the hospitalization. Patients were divided into the two groups by to postoperative complications. The groups were matched by age and sex.The patients having post-operative complications had tendency to show higher indexes of personal and reactive anxiety and significantly higher level of pro inflammatory cytokines (IL-6 and IL8) and lower level anti-inflammatory IL-10, compared with patients without post-operative complications.
