Abstract
SummarySummaryTwenty-nine infertile women with mild or moderate endometriosis were treated by laparoscopic cauterisation and followed up for 8 months. All patients were treated with danazol for 6 months starting immediately after laparoscopy. None of them suffered any complication. Twelve women of the 29 (41 per cent) achieved a pregnancy within 8 months. This IS similar to the pregnancies achieved after open surgery or hormone treatment. Pregnancy occurs sooner after operation. Laparoscopic electrocoagulation is a safe, quick and effective alternative method for the treatment of mild or moderate endometriosis in infertile women compared to treatment with laparotomy and excision of the endometriotic foci.
