Abstract
Objective To investigate the significance of apoptosis, proliferation and expression of regulating genes in adenomyosis. Methods Expression of survivin protein and PCNA protein were detected by immunohistochemistry staining, in humans ectopic and eutopic endometrial cells (from 30 women with adenomyosis) and eutopic endometrial cells (from 25 women without adenomyosis). Results Survivin protein expression in eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis and in control group was the strongest in glandular epithelial cells during the late secretory phase, and was not stained in the proliferative phase. In ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis survivin expression was higher compared with secretory phase in control(P0. 05),and no cyclic change was demonstrated. PCNA expression in eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis was stronger than that in control group,and was lower than that in ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis(P0. 05). Conclusion The apoptosis is inhibited while proliferation is improved, which provides good conditions for the ectopic endometrium to invasion, plant and growth.
