Abstract
Objective To examine the expression of apoptosis repressor Bcl-2 protein, estrogen receptor(ER) and progesterone receptor(PR) in eutopic and ectopic endometrium from women with adenomyosis and normal endometrium from women without adenomyosis, and explore the pathogenisis of adenomyosis. Methods PicTureTM immunohistochemical staining technique was used to examine Bcl-2 protein,ER and PR in 40 eutopic and ectopic endometrium from adenomyosis patients and 38 normal endometrium. The correlation among these factors was analyzed by Spearman. Results The expression of Bcl-2 protein in eutopic endometrium and normal endometrium showed obviously cyclic change. The expression level of them in proliferative stage was significantly higher than that in progestational stage(P0.05).But in ectopic endometrium,it showed no cyclic change. The expression of Bcl-2 protein in ectopic endometrium was significantly higher than that in eutopic endometrium and normal endometrium(P0.05),and it was higher in eutopic endometrium than that in normal endometrium(P0.05).There was positive correlation of the expression of Bcl-2 protein with the expression of ER and PR in normal endometrium and eutopic endometrium, but there was no correlation between them in ectopic endometrium. Conclusion The abnormal expression of Bcl-2 protein in eutopic and ectopic endometrium in patients with adenomyosis may be associated with pathogenisis of adenomyosis.
