Abstract
Objective:To explore the regression effect of soy isoflavone on endometriosis of rats. Methods:Rat models of endometriosis were established and divided into control group(group A),model group(group B),low-dose soy isoflavone group(group C),middle-dose soy isoflavone group(group D) and high-dose soy isoflavone group(group E).The volumes of ectopic lesions before and after treatment were observed and pathologic examination was conducted. The levels of interleukin-1β(IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) were detected by ELISA.Results:The success rate of model establishment was 73.3% in the study. There was no significant difference in implants volume before and after treatment in group C(P0.05).There was significant difference in implants volume before and after treatment in group D and group E(P0.05).The serum levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in group B were significantly higher than those in group A(P0.05),but there was no difference between group C and group B(P0.05).The serum levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in group D and group E were significantly lower than those in group B(P0.05).Conclusion:Soy isoflavone can cause a significant regression of endometriotic implants, and the mechanism may be related to the suppressive effect of soy isoflavone on the activity of estrogen receptor and serum levels of IL-1β and TNF-α.
