Abstract
276 women used the contraceptive preparation Ovostat over a period of 1 up to 20 cycles during 1968-1969. 170 of these women used the preparation for contraceptive purposed the remainder as a therapy for endometriosis abdominal disorders and irregular bleedings. As a contraceptive it was found to be 100% effective and was accompanied by minimal ill side Effects. As a therapeutic agent it proved effective in correcting pseudomenstruation after a short administration. Vegetative infections were reduced considerably. The preparation reduced the pain and discomfort of endometriosis to a favorable extent. The therapeutic mechanism of Ovostat is not fully understood yet and further reasearch into this aspect of the preparation is encouraged.(Authors modified)
