Die Rezidivrate bei Endometriosepatientinnen in Abhängigkeit anamnestischer Faktoren und des therapeutischen Vorgehens
This study investigated the recurrence rate of endometriosis after surgical treatment in 201 patients by assessing patient-reported pain levels and correlating historical factors and therapeutic approaches with symptom reoccurrence.

This study examined how anamnestische Faktoren und das therapeutische Vorgehen relate to endometriosis recurrence after surgery by surveying 201 patients by telephone and defining recurrence as reappearance of complaints. Using Kaplan–Meier time-to-event analysis and a “reverse-stepwise” Cox regression model, the authors reported a 5-year recurrence rate of 38.7% and found higher recurrence among women reporting abnormal bleeding duration (7 days), fewer than two live births, and preoperative dysuria or dyspareunia. Postoperatively, women taking an oral contraceptive had the same overall recurrence rate as those not taking the pill, but continuous pill use was associated with a significantly reduced recurrence risk (p=0.012). The paper acknowledges the need for prospective studies to verify results; as such, it relates directly to endometriosis recurrence and prophylaxis after surgery. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it investigates risk factors for recurrence after surgical treatment and the role of postoperative hormonal therapy.
