Abstract

Objective: To detect serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) level and explore its clinical significance in patients with endometriosis. Methods: Serum samples from 46 patients with endometriosis(endometriosis group) and 46 patients without endometriosis(control group),and the level of VEGF in serum was detected by ELISA.The levels of VEGF were compared between patients with different clinical symptoms and stage. Results: The level of serum VEGF in endometriosis group was significantly higher than that in control group(P0.05).The patients in endometriosis group with severe dysmenorrheal had high level of serum VEGF(P0.05).In endometriosis group, the level of serum VEGF of patients with staging Ⅲ~Ⅳ was significantly higher than that of patients with staging Ⅰ~Ⅱ.Conclusion: VEGF participates in onset and development of endometriosis, targeted therapies of VEGF may be a new method to treat endometriosis.
