Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of the cell cycle inhibitor p27 kip1 and cell proliferation associated nuclear antigen ki-67 in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Methods Expressions of p27 kip1 and ki-67 were detected in the eutopic and ectopic endometrium from 36 patients with endometriosis and 20 normal endometrium from healthy women immunohistochemically. Results ① The nuclear expression of p27 kip1 in ectopic endometrium was significantly less than that in normal endometrium (P0.05), and in plasma p27 kip1 expression was more in ectopic endometrium (P0.05).② The ki-67 expression in glandular cells of the normal endometriosis and eutopic endometrium in the proliferative phase were more than that in the secretory phase (P0.01).Ectopic endometrium showed no cyclic change. The expression rate of ki-67 in ectopic endometrium was significantly higher than that in normal endometrium and eutopic endometrium (P0.01).③ The expression of p27 kip1 was negatively related to ki-67 (P0.05). Conclusion The expression of the cyclin kinase inhibitor p27 Kip1 and ki-67 play important role in pathogenesis of endometriosis.
