Abstract
Objective To improve the recognition and diagnosis and differential diagnosis of MRI for ovarian cystic disease. Methods The MRI appearances of 133 ovaries in 109 cases of ovarian cystic disease were studied retrospectively. All the cases were proved by surgery and pathology. Results (1) Nonneoplastic cyst, cystadenoma and stein-leventhal were characterized by thin walled cystic mass, cystic wall and septa were thin and regular. Most cysts are single chamber. There are nodes on the wall in most cystadenomas. Most stein leventhals are multi chamber. Plain scanning T2WI is high signal,T,WI is equal and low signal. On T1WI,cystomyxo-adenoma presented as high or little high signal. (2)The value of typical diagnosis of cystic teratoma and endometriosis cyst of ovary could be made by MRI,both are high signal on T|WI and T2WI,cystic teratoma is low signal on T2WI/IR. Conclusion The diagnosis and differential diagnosis of MRI for overian cystic disease is very valuable.
