Clinical Analysis on Prevention of Recurrence of Postoperative Endometriosis by Combined Therapy of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicines

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of combined therapy of traditional Chinese and western medicines on the prevention of recurrence of postoperative endometriosis.Methods Eighty patients with endometriosis hospitalized in Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Hunan Province from June 2010 to October 2011 were enrolled in this study.All patients were divided into treatment group and control group(each n=40) according to different postoperative therapies.The patients of the two groups were treated surgically and simultaneously administered with western medicines to prevent the postoperative recurrence.On the basis of these treatments,the patients of treatment group were given self-made Chinese herbal decoction additionally.Results The obvious effective rates of treatment group and control group were 95.0% and 77.5%,respectively,and there were statistically significant differences between the two groups(P0.05).No statistically significant difference was found in the scores of VAS before the treatment between the two groups.After the treatment,the scores of VAS of the two groups were decreased significantly(P0.05) and the decrease in treatment group was more than that in control group(P0.05).One-year follow-up results showed that the recurrence rate of treatment group was significantly lower than that of control group(P0.05).Conclusions Combined therapy of traditional Chinese and western medicines is effective in the prevention and treatment of recurrent endometriosis;meanwhile,it can increase the therapeutic efficacy and alleviate the pain.It is worthy of being popularized and applied.
