{"paper_id":"fd407a5f-da97-4ff4-9d36-8e84a397a731","body_text":"Abstract\nEndometriosis is one of the most common diseases in gynecology, even though its epidemiology is still relatively unknown. This derives from the fact that the diagnosis of endometriosis, according to current clinical opinion, should be made through the “direct” or surgical visualization of the disease or through histologic confirmation. Deeply infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) (>5 mm) is the most complicated and symptomatic form and is found in 30–40% of patients with endometriosis.
