Complexity\nof female reproductive system influenced with various\nstressors including EDs lead to morphological and functional\nalterations. This is resulting in modulation of neuroendocrine\nregulation with consequent developmental irregularities\nand derangements, causative infertility, endometriosis as\nwell as premature ovarian insufficiency or polycystic ovary\nsyndrome. A number of experimental clues was obtained on\nfemale animal models using various EDs such as synthetic\nestrogens and phytoestrogens, neurotransmitters, pesticides or\nvarious chemicals. These substances lead towards consequent\nderangement of the neuroendocrine control of reproduction\nfrom early phases of reproductive development towards\ndifferent phases of adult reproductive period. This text\nwill address some novel insights into the effects of EDs on\nneuroendocrine regulation of gonadal axis, effects on ovaries\nas well on endometrium during implantation period.\nKeywords: endocrine disruptors, female reproduction, infertility, neuroendocrine regulation, ovary, endometrium, implantation.\nCorrespondence: Professor Djuro Macut MD, PhD, University of Belgrade Faculty of Medicine, Clinic for Endocrinology, Diabetes\nand Diseases of Metabolism, Dr Subotica 13, Beograd, 11000, Serbia, E-mail: djmacut@gmail.com","source_license":"CC0","license_restricted":false}
