{"paper_id":"dac604b1-caa6-457e-aaa7-5e7da2fb0ce2","body_text":"Abstract\nEndometriosis is a disease of ectopic endometrial-like tissue implanting outside the uterine cavity. While the exact cause of endometriosis is not completely understood, abnormal uterine architecture is thought to play a significant role in endometriosis due to dysperistalsis and retrograde reflux menstruation. The gold standard for diagnosing and treating endometriosis is laparoscopy. However, as patients with uterine structural abnormalities have a higher propensity for developing endometriosis, it is important to perform a thorough assessment of the uterine cavity in the endometriosis patient.
