{"paper_id":"d4f2288c-af0f-48d0-81d2-03574da1e42b","body_text":"Abstract\nThe diagnosis and treatment of chronic pelvic pain are often frustrating for doctor and patient. The usual sequence of interaction starts when the gynecologist tells the patient, that her complaints cannot be explained by somatic findings. If he then mentions psychic problems as a possible cause for the patient’s suffering, he will precipitate a strong defence reaction. The patient has the feeling, that she is misunderstood, that her complaints are not taken seriously. And the doctor feels helpless, because he cannot persuade the patient to accept his diagnosis and therapy. In order to overcome this frustrating sequence of events we formed a team of gynecologists, anesthesiologists, psychotherapists, and physiotherapists. This team is trying a multidisciplinary approach in the diagnosis and therapy of women with chronic pelvic pain.\nPreview\nUnable to display preview.
