{"paper_id":"ce392d3e-6317-4341-98d6-735d67de4f74","body_text":"Abstract\nThe treatment of chronic pelvic pain (CPP) has been limited by our ability to specifically diagnose and treat the causes of the pain. It has been estimated that about 10% of all office visits to a gynecologist are for CPP. More than 40% of laparoscopic procedures are performed for the evaluation of patients with CPP. In women with CPP, the findings on physical examination are not reliable predictors of laparoscopic findings.
