{"paper_id":"ce044bf3-26b5-49a8-8563-82c634fc7095","body_text":"Abstract\nHysterectomy provides an excellent opportunity for prophylactic removal of the ovary and/or tube or deal with tubo-ovarian pathology concomitantly. It is very important, at times imperative, for women with a family history of ovarian cancer or elderly women with past history of ovarian pathology to be subject to prophylactic salpingo-oophorectomy.\nOophorectomy or salpingo-oophorectomy concomitantly at vaginal hysterectomy (VH) does not require opening of the abdomen or help of the laparoscope in more than 95–97 % cases provided certain pre-requisites are met. If the operator makes up his/her mind to avoid the abdominal approach, it confirms that ‘where there is will there is a way’.\nThe Round ligament plays very important role, intra-operatively, for successful surgery.
