{"paper_id":"c52a2dc2-e7f9-43b4-88c8-661b978060a6","body_text":"Abstract\nThis comprehensive review addresses the intricate anatomy of uterosacral ligaments (USLs) and their significance in diagnosing deep pelvic endometriosis (DPE), namely via transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Various classification systems and diagnostic criteria are explored, alongside pitfalls in interpretation and potential technical challenges. Surgical implications, particularly concerning laparoscopic exploration, are highlighted, emphasizing the importance of accurate preoperative imaging. Insights into the morphological appearance of DPE lesions, their extensions, and associated adhesions are provided.
