The imaging characteristics of endometriosis vary widely,\nwith masses ranging from cystic to solid and complex,\nwhich depend on the hormonal response of the ectopic tissue during the menstrual cycle.\n2. Familiarity with the clinical setting and imaging feature of both usual and unusual endometriosis as depicted with US,\nCT,\nand MR will facilitate prompt and accurate diagnosis and treatment.\nPersonal information\nByoung Hee Han,\nMD1,\nSung Bin Park,\nMD2\n1Department of Radiology,\nCheil General Hospital & Women’s Healthcare Center,\nKwandong University College of Medicine,\n1-19 Mukjeong-dong,\nJung-gu,\nSeoul,\n100-380,\nKorea\n2Department of Radiology,\nChung-Ang University Hospital,\nChung-Ang University College of Medicine,\n224-1,\nHeukseok-dong,\nDongjak-gu,\nSeoul,\n156-755,\nKorea\nReferences\n1.\nPark SB,\nKim JK,\nCho KS.\nSonography of endometriosis in infrequent sites.\nJ Clin Ultrasound 2008;36:91–97\n2.\nWoodward PJ,\nSohaey R,\nMezzetti,\nJr,\nTP.\nEndometriosis: Radiologic-pathologic correlation.\nRadioGraphics 2001; 21:193–216\n3.\nChoudhary S,\nFasih N,\nPapadatos D,\net al.\nUnusual imaging appearances of endometriosis.\nAJR 2009; 192:1632–1644\n4.Bennett GL,Slywotzky CM,\nCantera M,\net al.\nUnusual manifestations and complications of endometriosis—spectrum of imaging findings:\npictorial review.\nAJR 2010;194:WS34–WS46","source_license":"CC0","license_restricted":false}
