The differential is broad and is dependent upon the patient’s age and whether or not she is pregnant. Aside from reproductive etiologies, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, and musculoskeletal causes must also be considered [1]. Acute pelvic pain has been defined as pain lasting less than 48 h, whereas chronic pelvic pain has been present for at least 6 months [2].
