Methode: 72 patients were included in this retrospective cohort study. Analysis was performed by a questionnaire consisting of 49 questions across six topics. Assessment focus was put on comparing symptoms and QoL in the long-term follow-up between the two study groups. Ergebnis: The median follow-up was 6.8 years (IQR: 5.2 years). 19 women were in group 1 and 53 women were in group 2. In comparing the two groups, UAE led to a reduction of the following symptoms: bleeding in 83.3% in group 1 and 71.4% in group 2, pain in 58.3% and 69.6%, bulk-related symptoms in 40.0% and 55.6%, respectively. The median impairment scores for bleeding decreased significantly from 7.0 to 0.0 and from 6.0 to 0.0 for groups 1 and 2, respectively (both p<0.001). Similar results were observed for median pain scores for group 1 and 2 (5.0 to 0.0 and 2.0 to 0.0, both p<0.001). The general QoL index increased significantly from 5.0 to 9.0 for group 1 and from 6.0 to 9.0 for group 2 (p<0.001). Schlussfolgerung: UAE seems to lead to a notable long-term improvement in QoL in patients suffering from both (adenomyosis and leiomyomata) and from fibroids alone.\nKorrespondierender Autor: Popovic M\nMedizinische Universität Wien, Radiodiagnostik, Kardiovaskuläre und Interventionelle Radiologie, Währinger Gürtel 18–20, 1090, Wien\nE-Mail: martin.popovic@meduniwien.ac.at\nLeiomyomata - Adenomyosis - Uterine Artery Embolization","source_license":"CC0","license_restricted":false}
