The patients were 44- and 28-year-old females, both complaining of abdominal pain. Preoperative examinations suggested endometriosis of the sigmoid colon. However, a definitive diagnosis could not be rendered. Both patients were treated with laparoscopy-assisted resection of the partial sigmoid colon. The postoperative course was uneventful and they were discharged home on day 20 and 21. No symptoms or diseases have recurred in 7-8 years after surgery.
