{"paper_id":"976d21b7-d4b3-4ef0-910d-4137781da09f","body_text":"Abstract\nAlthough lasers have been applied to many laparoscopic procedures by a small group of surgeons, their widespread use is needed to confirm that they can be mastered by more than this select group. The lasers used in operative laparoscopy are highly predictable instruments for precise and repeatable tissue destruction. Coagulation, vaporization, or excision of a lesion can be performed with an excellent anticipation of the tissue effect (Fig. 16–1).
