Dieses wird einschließlich seiner molekularen Pathogenese, der Varianten, Vorstufen und Differentialdiagnosen erörtert. Weitere wesentliche Themen sind die Neoplasien des Endometriumstromas, funktionelle Störungen sowie der Einfluss von Hormonen einschließlich iatrogener Veränderungen und Entzündungen. Die beschriebenen Erkrankungen sind mittels zahlreicher histologischer Bilder ausführlich dokumentiert.
