Clinical signs are frequently mild and rely on the disease's inflammatory activity. In women of childbearing age, florid intestinal endometriosis can mimic CD. Furthermore, modern pathophysiological ideas identify intestinal endometriosis as a potential founder lesion for successive CD creation.
