We stained parallel sections using normal mouse serum (instead of anti-p53 antibody) as a negative control, and no staining was observed in the sections that showed positive p53 staining. We further examined the possibility of endogenous biotin activity by preincubating the sections with streptavidin (Pierce, Rockford, IL).
