Endometriosis \nmay impact a woman from menarche onwards, resulting in \nchronic pain, involving many organs and nerves, potentially \nimpacting fertility and has a risk of malignant degenera-\ntion. The disease presentation clinically and radiologically \ncan be challenging and the standardization of imaging pro-\ntocols, report templates and interdisciplinary conferences, \nwill aid in refining disease detection and management. All \nof these topics and others will be addressed in this edition. \nMuch about this disease remains to be discovered; however, \nresearch studies broaching many of these topics are impact-\ning our evolving practice management.\nI would like to thank the Society of Abdominal Radiology \n(SAR) for the opportunity to create this platform for knowl-\nedge sharing. Through the tireless efforts of the SAR Dis -\nease Focused Panel (DFP) on Endometriosis this edition has \nbeen made possible. I’d like to thank the editor-in-chief, Dr. \nC. Daniel Johnson, the former associate editor of gyneco-\nlogical imaging, Dr. Christine (Cooky) Menias, and my fel-\nlow DFP members for inviting me to serve as guest editor. \nIn particular, I’d like to highlight the Endometriosis DFP \nconsensus guidelines on MRI Lexicon and technique. Many \ncontributors of research papers, educational articles and case \nreports present a sense of the breadth and complexity of this \ndisease which we must familiarize ourselves with as imag-\ners.
