The extended wait for \ndiagnosis that can span about 7 to 9 years \nworldwide only adds to the mental strain on \npatients (Frankel, in 2022). \nStudies have shown that endometriosis \ncan have an effect on women’s health and \nrelationships as well as their overall quality \nof life. According to research findings \nwomen with endometriosis tend to \nexperience issues than those, without the \ncondition, which adds to their emotional \nstruggles (Aerts et al., 2018).The possibility \nof infertility linked to endometriosis also \ncontributes to feelings of anxiety, \ndepression and a sense of losing control \nover their ability to conceive. \nThe persistent and unpredictable nature of \nendometriosis can lead to patients feeling \nisolated due to a lack of awareness and \nunderstanding in society which can further \ncontribute to stigma surrounding the \ncondition. It is crucial to address the social \naspects of endometriosis as studies have \nshown that psychosexual interventions can \nbe effective in reducing pain and improving \noutcomes for those with the condition (As‐\nSanie et al., 2019). Providing care that \ncombines support with medical treatment is \nvital in ensuring optimal care and \nassistance for individuals dealing with \nendometriosis (As‐Sanie et al., 2019). \n \n \nImage 1: A visual representation of \nendometriosis and its connection to \ninfertility demonstrates how this condition \nimpacts the body by illustrating \ninflammation and scarring, which \ncontribute to the fertility struggles \nexperienced by individuals. \nTo enhance the wellbeing and quality of life \nfor individuals, with endometriosis \ncondition it is crucial to provide care that \nfocuses on both psychological and medical \naspects within a couple centered \nframework. It is important to adopt a \ncollaborative approach in managing the \ndisease while increasing awareness \namong patients and healthcare \n\n\n53 \n \nprofessionals to effectively address the \nchallenges associated with endometriosis \n(Aerts et al., 2018). \nHaving endometriosis is not about \nsymptoms; it also deeply affects the \nemotional and mental health of those \ndealing with it in a significant way. The \nchallenging process of diagnosis and the \nthreat of infertility as the unpredictable \ncourse of the illness can trigger strong \nemotional responses, like sexual issues \nand feelings of anxiety or depression. \nFeeling like you are losing control over your \nability to have children can compound \nthese effects. \nReferences \nAerts, L., Grangier, L., Streuli, I., \nDällenbach, P., Marci, R., Wenger, J., & \nPluchino, N.
