By comparing these tumors with other uterine neoplasmas with a prominent vascular component and by reviewing the present literature the following conclusions have been drawn:\n-\n1.\nIn their light microscopic appearance the vascular tumors of the uterus completely resemble those found in other organs. There are a number of morphological criteria which usually allow differentiation of these tumors from proliferative endolymphatic stromatosis and from vascular leiomyomas.\n-\n2.\nThe treatment of choice is total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. It seems likely that hemangiopericytomas are relatively radio-resistant. The hemangioendothelioma and the proliferative endolymphatic stromatosis on the contrary usually respond very well to radiotherapy.\n-\n3.\nThe recurrence rate of these three tumors ist varying considerably. Hemangioendotheliomas are characterized by early recurrence in over 50%, while endolymphatic stromatosis has a recurrence rate of about 20%.
