{"paper_id":"64bd994a-f993-40b7-973f-eb5584631205","body_text":"A 38-year-old female patient with a history of cesarean delivery (CD) and severe endometriosis ( Figure 1 ) conceived spontaneously. At 16 weeks of gestation, transvaginal ultrasonography revealed a retroflexed incarcerated gravid uterus (IGU) ( Figure 2 ). Repositioning was avoided because of the risk of hemoperitoneum from severe adhesions in the pouch of Douglas caused by endometriosis potentially associated with the IGU. Magnetic resonance imaging at 33 weeks of gestation revealed an IGU with complete placenta previa ( Figure 3 ). A planned CD was performed at 35 weeks of gestation because of the possibility of a placenta accreta spectrum resulting from the placenta overlying the previous CD scar. Intraoperative ultrasonography facilitated the navigation of complex anatomic relationships, and the newborn was delivered via a vertical uterine incision with spontaneous placental delivery.
