In comparative studies with naproxen and ketoprofen, piroxicam-β-cyclodextrin was shown to produce an earlier onset of pain relief with a longer lasting effect. Tolerability with piroxicam-β-cyclodextrin was good, with few side effects being reported. The efficacy and tolerability of piroxicam-β-cyclodextrin make it well qualified for use as first-line therapy for primary dysmenorrhoea in patients in whom oral contraception is not required or who are unable to tolerate estrogenic and progestational agents.\nSimilar content being viewed by others\nReferences\nAkerlund M, Anderson K.E, Ingermarsson I.
