However, several publications describe endometrial cancer arising from adenomyotic lesions within the myometrial tissue. The differentiation between adenomyosis and endometrial cancer arising from adenomyosis or endometrial cancer coexisting with adenomyotic lesions can be clinically challenging and might lead to a diagnostic delay and erroneous diagnostic and surgical decisions including incorrect oncological staging of endometrial cancer within the myometrial tissue.
