This review explores screening options for the most common\ndisorders that significantly impact reproductive health, based on a review\nof recent literature. Endometriosis. Diagnosis of endometriosis typically\ninvolves evaluating symptoms such as pelvic pain, alongside gynecological\nexamination, imaging, and surgical exploration of the abdomen. Currently,\nthere is no reliable biomarker for detecting asymptomatic endometriosis.\nEarly detection, therefore, relies on elevated serum levels of the cancer\nantigen 125 and symptom-based questionnaires. Reduced ovarian reserve.\nAnti-Mullerian hormone levels are a highly effective screening tool for\nassessing diminished ovarian reserve, providing critical guidance for\ninfertility treatment. Polycystic ovary syndrome. While diagnosing this\ncomplex disorder is relatively straightforward, a reliable screening method\nremains elusive. Gene expression analysis in blood, alongside the\nidentification of genes associated with the condition, may serve as\npotential biomarkers for future screening approaches. Early identification of causative agents in asymptomatic phases\nhas been instrumental in reducing the spread of these diseases and\npreventing pelvic inflammatory disease - one of the leading causes of\ninfertility and ectopic pregnancy. Current efforts aim to develop more reliable, accessible\nscreening methods for broader populations and to identify women at higher\nrisk. Conclusion. In addition to routine reproductive health screenings,\nsuch as anti-Mullerian hormone testing for ovarian reserve and pathogen\ndetection in sexually transmitted infections, further research is needed to\nidentify biomarkers for effective screening of endometriosis and polycystic\novary syndrome.
