{"paper_id":"49dbcb88-7245-41a3-8871-e46a7588ef52","body_text":"Abstract\nEndometriosis is surgically staged traditionally with the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s (ASRM) Revised Staging System [1]. This is a standardized way to describe findings that describe endometriosis with extent of tissue involvement and descriptions that include color changes, as well as peritoneal defects that are suggestive of endometriosis. A new surgical classification system that is meant to also account for surgical complexity is the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists’ Endometriosis Staging Application [2].
