{"paper_id":"428aedd3-cc36-4e1e-8c40-5d1feae4a095","body_text":"Zusammenfassung\nEndometriose ist eine chronische Erkrankung, die eine große Anzahl von Frauen im reproduktiven Alter betrifft. Aufgrund der die Lebensqualität einschränkenden Symptome wie Dysmenorrhö, Dyspareunie und unerfülltem Kinderwunsch besteht ein hoher Behandlungsbedarf. Bislang besteht die medikamentöse Therapie der Endometriose aus Pharmaka, die die Steroidsynthese des Ovars unterdrücken. Die Nebenwirkungen der Östrogensuppression verhindern eine Langzeitanwendung und nach Beendigung der Therapie tritt die Endometriose oft erneut auf. Im Zentrum der Forschung liegen deshalb neue Therapieansätze, die sich der Pathogenese der Endometriose annehmen. Hierbei bilden antientzündliche Medikamente und Modulatoren des Immunsystems einen besonderen Fokus. Durch die Anwendung dieser Medikamente könnten vielleicht nicht nur wie bisher die Symptome der Endometriose, sondern die Erkrankung selbst behandelt oder sogar möglicherweise vorgebeugt werden.\nAbstract\nEndometriosis is a chronic condition that affects a large number of reproductive age women. The need for treatment is high because of symptoms restricting the quality of life such as dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, and infertility. So far, medical treatment of endometriosis relies on drugs that suppress the synthesis of ovarian steroids. The side effects of estrogen suppression limit long-term use and often symptoms return after discontinuation of therapy. Therefore, research centers on new therapeutic approaches based on the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Interest is focused on anti-inflammatory drugs and immune system modulators.
