On a sample of 46 sub-Saharan African countries selected over the period ranging from 2000 to 2023. We made use of the method of systematic GMM. The results of our estimates show for the first time that our natural disasters negatively affect health, as they increase infant mortality rates and reduce vaccine coverage rates against measles and DTP. In a second time, female education plays a moderating role in the relationship between natural disasters and infant mortality in Sub-Saharan African countries. These results allow us to suggest that public authorities should integrate into their programs, the promotion of infrastructure adapted to the types of natural disasters likely to affect them, strengthen health systems adapted to natural disasters and promote education and awareness of populations.
