We report a case in which laparoscopic drainage was used to control infection, with subsequent laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy in two-stage surgery, enabling organ-preserving management. A 34-year-old woman presented with abdominal pain for 1 day, and was found to have severe inflammation and a 7-cm pelvic cyst. Antibiotic treatment was administered for an infected endometrial cyst. As antibiotic treatment was not effective, we performed laparoscopic drainage, and the inflammatory reaction improved. Laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy was performed 3 months after the initial operation. The results suggest that a second-look surgery is useful for ovarian conservation because laparoscopic drainage is minimally invasive and effective.\n© 2018 日本産科婦人科内視鏡学会","source_license":"CC0","license_restricted":false}
