Presented is a case of massive ascites due to endometriosis in which about 5 1/2 L. of abdominal fluid were removed.\n2. This manifestation of endometriosis has not, to our knowledge, been reported previously.\n3. The clinical significance of the case is discussed with particular emphasis on differential diagnosis.\n4. The problem of the possible mechanisms of fluid production is discussed.\n5.
