It is a significant cause of dysmenorrhea and subfertility. Laparoscopy remains the gold standard for diagnosis and management. However, data on patient profiles and surgical characteristics are limited. This study was conducted with an aim to study about the profile of patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis at Kathmandu Model Hospital.\nMethods\nThis is an observational study conducted in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology at Kathmandu Model Hospital Institute of Health Sciences over one year period from January to December 2025 among all patients who underwent Laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis. Data regarding demographic characteristics, symptoms, revised American Society of Reproductive Medicine (rASRM) staging, type of surgery, perioperative complications were collected in predesigned proforma and then entered in SPSS version 20.\nResults\nThe rate of endometriosis surgery was 10.48 % (65 cases out of a total of 620 gynaecological surgery) during the study period. The mean age of the patient was 34.5±7.9 years. Dysmenorrhea was the most common presenting symptom (84.6%) followed by heavy menstrual bleeding and subfertility (38.5% each). Majority of patients (98.4%) belonged to advanced stage disease with 66.2% in stage IV and 32.2% in stage III. Fertility preserving surgery was performed in 55.4% while 44.6% underwent radical surgery. History of previous surgery for endometriosis was seen in 21.5%. Overall complication rate was 6.1%. The mean duration of hospital stay was 3.37±0.65 days.\nConclusions\nEndometriosis has with varied clinical presentation occurring mainly in reproductive age group.
