Attempts have been made to impose a conceptual unity on the two conditions of adenomyosis and endometriosis by referring to the former as ‘internal endometriosis’ and to the latter as ‘external endometriosis’: there is, however, no valid justification for this terminology which blurs the fact that adenomyosis and endometriosis, though not uncommonly occurring together in the same patient, are conditions of differing aetiology and pathogenesis.\nPreview\nUnable to display preview.
