{"paper_id":"0ea1b21b-82b6-4e8e-a285-30496aa0219c","body_text":"INTRODUCTION \nReview question / Objective Systematic \nreview to summarize the literature on \ncirculating miRNAs in patients with \nendometriosis\nP: Patients with endometriosis\nI: Assesment of circulating biomarkers\nC: asymptomatic patients/negative laparoscopy\nO: diﬀerential expression of circulating miRNAs. \nRationale The investigation of miRNAs in blood is \nminimal-invasive, and moreover, miRNAs in the \ncirculation are stable and easily accessible. \nTherefore, they could serve as promising \nbiomarkers for endometriosis. \nCondition being studied Endometriosis. \nMETHODS \nSearch strategy We performed a systematic \nreview according to the PRISMA guidelines [18]. \nThe Pubmed database was searched using the \nMesh terms 'Endometriosis' and 'MicroRNAs', with \ninclusion up to November 17th, 2022. Titles, \nabstracts and full papers were individually \nassessed for eligibility by two authors (AVH and \nEC). A ﬂow chart of the literature search is \nprovided in Figure 1. A total of 292 articles were \nfound. All titles and abstracts were carefully read \nand assessed. After this initial screening 54 articles \nwere sought for retrieval and assessed for \neligibility.
