{"paper_id":"0cc7747e-1fae-471f-8c5e-e9a97a7684b0","body_text":"Abstract\nPelvic nerve endometriosis is relatively rare but its impact is often much worse than other types of endometriosis and its treatment a lot more challenging. The pain symptoms and motor dysfunction associated with this condition have an adverse effect on the quality of life of these patients. Patients often need long durations of treatment and long-term physical therapy. Following an accurate and comprehensive treatment, the symptoms of nerve endometriosis can be alleviated. With timely diagnosis and correct surgery performed by an expert team, the neuromotor defects such as foot drop, gluteal atrophy can be minimized. Diagnosis and treatment of nerve endometriosis requires particular knowledge and expertise in Neuropelveology, a new discipline in medicine. The increase in number of neuropelveologists worldwide has led to relative progress in diagnosis and successful management of pelvic nerve endometriosis. Especially within the past 10 years, more cases have been reported on this condition.
